After a few years of sustained use, leisure vehicle floors can become spongy. This requires a professional repair, which can go wrong if not carried out properly!
Leisure Vehicles have a floor manufactured from 2 plywood panels with high density polystyrene sandwiched between them. Constant walking over a small area like the kitchen causes the filling to break down into beads and this causes the floor to loose it's strength and bounce each time it is walked on.
Making a long term repair means removing the floor covering, drilling a series of holes in the floor from above then filling with specialist epoxy and plugging with dowels. Once set (Min 48hrs) The floor can be cleaned up, and the carpet put back down.
As the floor needs to be filled in the middle gravity takes over and liquid cannot be injected from below for obvious reasons.
Once the repair is complete and the floor covering has been replaced, there is no obvious sign the floor has been repaired.
